IND vs AUS 4th Test: Warmest first day awaits India, Australia in Melbourne on Boxing Day

As per the Australian government's Bureau of Meteorology, the mercury level is expected to soar to a record high on Day 1 of IND vs AUS 4th Test

India, Australia and the fans in Melbourne will have to brace themselves for an extremely hot day on Day 1 of IND vs AUS 4th Test in MCG. The Boxing Day Test is scheduled to get underway from December 26 and a huge turnout is expected at the MCG to witness the intense clash between the arch-rivals. In the 3rd Test at The Gabba, Brisbane, rain played spoilsport and saved India from defeat, and instead allowed the game to end in a draw. The Border-Gavaskar Trophy series is currently poised at 1-1.

Beware of extreme heat on Day 1 of IND vs AUS 4th Test

Australian government’s Bureau of Meteorology Senior meteorologist Angus Hines claimed that Melbourne could see the warmest Day 1 that has ever been recorded for a Boxing Day Test. The temperature is expected to touch 39 degree Celsius. While this could be a huge challenge for both India and Australia, it is also a cause for concern for fans. The tickets for IND vs AUS Boxing Day Test at the MCG have been sold out and the fans are expected to flock to the venue to watch the match during the holiday season.

After winning the 1st Test in Perth by a mammoth 295-run margin, India were handed a 10-wicket thrashing in the Pink Ball Test in Adelaide. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and others faltered as Australia dominated the game and managed to level the series 1-1. The IND vs AUS 3rd Test in Brisbane was also looking like it was going in the way of the hosts before rain and some clinical bowling from India ensured that they avoided a defeat. All eyes will now be on the Boxing Day Test.
