Babar Azam bids farewell to India’s legend R Ashwin, congratulates for ‘incredible career’

Babar Azam has sent his love from Pakistan by posting a story for India's legendary spinner R. Ashwin after his retirement.

Ravichandran Ashwin has received wishes from neighbors, with Pakistan’s former captain Babar Azam bidding farewell to Ashwin by sharing a story for him on his Instagram handle on December 20. The Indian legendary spinner announced his retirement after the IND vs AUS 3rd Test on December 18.

Babar Azam congrats Ashwin for ‘incredible career’

The Pakistani star paid tribute to Ashwin on December 20 through his social media handle. Babar Azam shared on his Instagram story, “Congratulations on an outstanding career.”

Ashwin retirement

During a brief two-minute press conference with Rohit Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin stunned his fans with the announcement of his retirement. While this news surprised many, it also brought joy as fans took a moment to reflect on his remarkable achievements across all formats, particularly in Tests, where his legacy will forever be remembered.

Just as Ashwin has always relied on numbers and calculations to shape his cricketing strategies, his fans now celebrate the records he set during his nearly 14-year career, which began on November 6, 2011, in Delhi and concluded on December 18, 2024. Here are some of Ashwin’s records that remain almost impossible to surpass.

Babar Azam’s return to form

Babar Azam made 73 runs off 95 balls in the second ODI against South Africa, forming a 115-run partnership for the third wicket with Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 80 off 82. Kamran Ghulam’s quick-fire 63 off 32 balls helped lift the total to 329.
