ICC okays hybrid model for Champions Trophy 2025
ICC approved a hybrid model for CT 2025, with the two locations being Pakistan and Dubai. The decision was arrived at after both the BCCI and PCB agreed on the suggestion. The Champions Trophy 2025 final will be held in Dubai if India qualify. Similarly, one of the semi-finals will be held in Dubai if India make it to the top four. This would mean that only one of the semi-final would be held in Pakistan if India qualifies for the other and the final would be shifted out of Pakistan.
Further, India and Pakistan reportedly agreed “in principle” that the latter will not travel to India for their league game in T20 World Cup 2026. The IND vs PAK clash will take place in Colombo, Sri Lanka instead. Further, Pakistan has been compensated by the ICC and has been offered to host the Women’s T20 World Cup in 2028.
