The ball, pitched on a good length outside off stump, jagged back in sharply with extra bounce, catching Rahul off guard. As he tried to get forward, the ball struck his left wrist with force, causing immediate discomfort. Reacting instinctively to the pain, Rahul flung his bat away and dropped to the ground, clearly in distress.
The physio rushed onto the field to attend to Rahul as the batter remained on the ground, wincing in pain. The ball, fortunately, landed safely on the leg side, avoiding further drama on the field.
