It was delightful to see Indian politicians padding up to play a friendly match on December 15 for a charity event.

Amid the high-intensity Border-Gavaskar Trophy tournament, social media is enjoying a light-hearted and friendly cricket match where politicians are showcasing their skills, proving they can also be top-class cricketers.

Match for TB Mukt Bharat campaign

The match, held at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi, featured the Lok Sabha Speaker XI, led by Anurag Thakur, competing against the Rajya Sabha Chairman XI, captained by Kiren Rijiju.

Organized as part of the TB Mukt Bharat campaign, the 20-over match brought together Members of Parliament from various political parties. As the Chief Guest, Speaker Birla not only graced the event with his presence but also participated, stepping onto the field to bat with remarkable agility and composure. The match had started at 9:00 AM on December 15.

Social media were loving the game

Since it wasn’t a great day for India on the international front, with Australia taking control of the third match in the India vs Australia 3rd Test in Brisbane, cricket fans entertained themselves with a unique and enjoyable match.
