The IND vs AUS Pink Ball Test in Adelaide saw the lights going out twice much to the dismay of both the teams and the fans. And now Nathan Lyon has explained the reason for the same. The off-spinner was the night watchman and he wanted to take a couple of hits in the nets.
It was revealed that Nathan Lyon wanted the lights to be on in the training pitches and asked the light coordinator to turn on the lights. But the person mistakenly hit the wrong button and turned off the lights on the main ground twice during the game.
Nathan Lyon’s net practice initiative saw Lights out in Adelaide
“Yes, I can believe that. I was with our assistant coach sitting out there in the dark. I asked the security guy if he could switch on the lights in the middle it would be great. And in the next minute, it (the whole ground) went off. And I said to Boroughs (assistance coach) ‘he hit the wrong switch’. He said ‘nah’ and then we sat in the dark for 15 minutes in nets waiting to take a hit,” Nathan Lyon said.
Coming to the game, the India Cricket Team was handed a humiliating 10-wicket loss in Adelaide. After a dominant win in Perth, the visitors failed to get their bite back in the game and now the series remains evenly poised at 1-1.
