UCL Matchday 6 roundup: Ferran Torres saves Barcelona, Pep’s Man City in shambles, know the results

Barcelona edged Borussia Dortmund 3-2 in a thrilling match. Ferran Torres came off the bench to score twice for Barca, including a late winner.

The UEFA Champions League Matchday 6 gave us lots of exciting football action across Europe. FC Barcelona, Arsenal and Juventus got some success in the matches on Wednesday night, while it was a disappointing day for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. Many big teams play important matches that decide who will go to the next round. Let’s look at what happened in the main games.

Barcelona wins thriller against Dortmund

Barcelona beat Borussia Dortmund 3-2 in a very close match. Ferran Torres came off the bench and scored two goals for Barcelona, including the winning goal near the end. This win puts Barcelona in second place with 15 points. They now have a good chance to finish in the top 8 and go straight to the round of 16.

Juventus shocks Manchester City

Juventus surprised everyone by beating Manchester City 2-0 at home. Dusan Vlahovic and Weston McKennie scored the goals for Juventus. This loss is very bad for Manchester City. They have now lost 7 out of their last 10 games in all competitions. City are in big trouble and might not even make it to the next round of Champions League.

Arsenal cruises past Monaco

Arsenal had an easy 3-0 win against Monaco. Bukayo Saka scored two goals for Arsenal. This win takes Arsenal to third place with 13 points. They are now in a good position to finish in the top 8 and go straight to the round of 16.

Other important results in UCL

AC Milan beat Red Star Belgrade 2-1 with a late goal from Tammy Abraham. Feyenoord won 4-2 against Sparta Prague. Stuttgart easily beat Young Boys 5-1. Lille won a close game 3-2 against Sturm Graz. Benfica and Bologna played a boring 0-0 draw.

What these results mean

These results have changed the Champions League table a lot. Barcelona and Arsenal both moved up and are now likely to finish in the top 8. This means they will go straight to the round of 16 without playing extra matches.

But Manchester City is in big trouble. They are now 22nd in the table, just one point above the teams that will be knocked out. Their next match against PSG will be very important.

Some players who did well

Ferran Torres was Barcelona’s hero, scoring two goals after coming off the bench. Bukayo Saka played very well for Arsenal and scored two goals. Weston McKennie scored a beautiful goal for Juventus.
