Not Rohit Sharma, but Virat Kohli takes charge in leading Team India practice for IND vs AUS Test

India will take on Australia for the 3rd Test of the BGT series in the Gabba Test starting from 14th December

The stage is set for an enticing encounter between India and Australia for the 3rd Test in Gabba. And 2 days before the IND vs AUS 3rd Test, it was a rather different scene in India’s practice session. Not Rohit Sharma, but former India captain Virat Kohli was spotted addressing the team huddle.

As has been the norm in the sport for quite some time, it is always the captain who leads the charge of the team. And this also essentially includes the training sessions as well. Normal, it is always the India Cricket Team captain, Rohit Sharma who addresses the team huddle and gives pep talk to the team.

Kohli leads the charge?

But on Thursday during India’s practice session, it was a different sight to behold. It was the ace Indian batter Virat Kohli who was addressing the team huddle before the start of the training session. Team India will be desperate to make their mark in this upcoming encounter.

India comfortably went on to win the Perth Test, while the Aussies went on to repeat the favor in the Pink Ball Adelaide Test. And now as the series 1-1 in balance, the onus is on the visitors to make a strong comeback. Team India will be desperate to snatch a victory as it will greatly increases their chances in making it to the WTC Finals.

On a personal front, the fans will be hoping for both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to perform. The ace batters have been having a lacklustre form for quite some. While Kohli roared back with an unbeaten ton in Perth, his poor knocks in Adelaide surely raises doubts.
