We are still about 48 hours away from the India vs Australia 3rd Test, but some interesting news about the game has come. Rain might play spoilsport at the Gabba. But, if it doesn’t, Jay Shah, the new International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman, will be there enjoying the match. The latest ICC rankings just dropped, and Rohit Sharma fans won’t be happy seeing them. Speaking of Rohit, he wasn’t amused with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Why? You gotta read below for that. Hardik Pandya’s apparently a bigger star than Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni. Well, not just Hardik but even Shashank Singh. And, as usual, we have another Champions Trophy 2025 update, and this one is huge.
Yashasvi Jaiswal makes Rohit Sharma angry
Yashasvi Jaiswal is punctual when he’s at the crease. But that’s not the case when he’s off the pitch. Apparently, the young superstar made the India team bus wait for quite a while and still didn’t arrive. Captain Rohit Sharma was fuming and left him behind as they left for the airport. Luckily, we reached the airport on time. He’ll hope his captain doesn’t stay angry for long.
Champions Trophy format changed?
There is a chance that the ICC will be forced to change the format of the Champions Trophy 2025. Due to the ongoing tiff between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the ICC might be forced to hold the 8-team event in T20 format instead of the original ODI. The schedule for the tournament should have been out 25 days ago, but due to the constant delay, organizing it might be very difficult, hence the possible change.
Rain predicted for India vs Australia 3rd Test
30% to 50%—that’s the rain prediction for each day of the Gabba Test. After the last match lasted less than 8 sessions, we might see another short game in Brisbane, albeit for a different reason. The Australian summer might turn rainy in a couple of days, and the fun could very well be spoiled.

Shashank Singh more famous than Virat Kohli & MS Dhoni?
I didn’t think any of us would live to see this day. Apparently, Shashank Singh was the 9th most searched athlete on Google in 2024. Hardik Pandya’s two spots above him at 7th. But surprise, surprise! Neither Virat Kohli nor MS Dhoni is featured on the list. Had this been some other website, you might have said Donald Trump’s favourite words: Fake News.
Rohit Sharma reaches 6-year low in ICC Test Rankings
It’s been a bad Test year for Rohit Sharma. The Indian captain has struggled as a captain and as a batter. Such has been the drop that he’d moved out of the top 30 of the ICC Test Batting Rankings for the first time since December 2018. Not too long ago, another Indian senior pro, Virat Kohli, moved out of the Top 20 after a decade. The end is near, one fears.
Jay Shah in Brisbane
Jay Shah, the new ICC Chairman, has landed in Brisbane. As mentioned above, he might watch the Gabba Test, but that’s not all he’ll do. The main reason behind his visit was to have a meeting regarding the 2032 Brisbane Olympics. He’s joined by interim BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia and is expected to stay in Australia until the Border-Gavaskar Trophy ends.
