Smriti Mandhana is in top form in One-Day International cricket, setting a record for the most centuries in a calendar year. She scored a brilliant century in the third ODI between India and Australia, marking her ninth ODI century. Mandhana’s innings included 13 fours and a six, with the opener displaying excellent stroke play throughout. This century is her second in Australia. However, after reaching 105 runs, Mandhana couldn’t stay at the crease for long and was dismissed.
The elegant Indian batter, who surpassed Mithali Raj’s record for the most ODI centuries by an Indian player in October, reached her ninth century off 103 balls. In pursuit of a challenging target of 299, Mandhana’s innings provided a solid foundation for India’s chase. She and Harleen Deol partnered for 118 runs for the second wicket after India lost Richa Ghosh early in the fifth over.
