3 players who can be game changers for MI in IPL 2025

For Mumbai Indians, things seem sorted as the team performed well in the IPL auction. However, among full squad, who can emerge as the game-changers for MI in IPL 2025

The five-time champions, Mumbai Indians, are all set to showcase their trademark champion-like play. However, the last few seasons didn’t end well for them, especially the previous one, where the team finished at the bottom of the table under their new captain, Hardik Pandya. Despite having players like Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya, they failed to capitalize and stumbled.

This time, however, MI have made changes and worked to address the loopholes. Now, they are gearing up for IPL 2025 but among all the big names in the squad, who are the three players that could be the game-changers for them in the upcoming edition? Let’s see few quality players who could provide a significant boost for MI in IPL 2025.

Jasprit Bumrah

No matter the situation or the scenario, handing the ball to Jasprit Bumrah and believing is the go-to option for any captain, whether he’s playing for India or MI. The same is expected in the upcoming IPL as well, as Bumrah is known for shifting momentum and seizing control from the opposition. There’s no doubt about his bowling prowess, and the best thing MI can rely on is his ability to bowl effectively in any conditions, making him one of the most lethal bowlers in the game.

Will Jacks

Now Will Jacks, who is a strong contender to open with Rohit Sharma, Jacks, however, stands out as a player from whom MI can benefit significantly, especially in the top order. He brings plenty of experience as an opener, from scoring centuries in The Hundred to performing well for RCB while batting at No. 3. He is a challenging batter for bowlers to contend with, and his versatility makes him a valuable asset. This flexibility is one of the reasons why Jacks is highly favored by MI. It’s likely the same reason we saw MI’s owner shake hands with RCB management after acquiring Jacks and thanks RCB for not using RTM card for him, showcasing just how much MI wanted Jacks in their camp.

Trent Boult

It’s a homecoming for Trent Boult as he returns to a camp he knows well. MI acquired him for a significant INR 12.50 crore in the mega auction, demonstrating how much they needed a pacer like him to partner with Jasprit Bumrah. Together, they form a lethal bowling combination, whether in the first six overs or during the death overs. Looking at the bigger picture, MI has heavily invested in their bowling attack, having signed Deepak Chahar in addition to Boult, while already having Bumrah in the squad. The team appears well-balanced. Speaking specifically about Boult, he could be a game-changer for MI in IPL 2025.
