Travis Head vs Mohammed Siraj Fight Timeline: From Ugly Banter to Warm Hug

Mohammed Siraj vs Travis Head was the only highlight of the Adelaide Test. See everything that happened between them, from verbal banters to a heartwarming hug.

Although the second Test didn’t end well for Rohit Sharma and company, what stood out was the intense battle between Mohammed Siraj and Travis Head. For fans who missed what happened on Day 2, we saw two top competitors clashing against each other. For Australia, it was Travis Head who took on India’s bowlers, dominating with his aggressive batting, scoring 140 runs off 141 balls, including 17 fours and 4 sixes. However, India’s Mohammed Siraj had the last laugh, cleaning up Head’s stumps with a deadly yorker, pulling out his aggression.

Siraj stood close to Head after the dismissal and delivered a fiery send-off. Head, not one to back down, responded with a few words of his own. While it’s still unclear exactly what was said, everyone has their own version of the story. What we saw, however, was the Adelaide crowd erupting in support of their local hero, giving Travis Head a thunderous round of applause as he walked off the field. Meanwhile, Siraj faced boos from the crowd for his animated send-off, adding to the drama of an already heated contest. In the end, as mentioned, things settled down. See all what happened between Siraj and Head over the two days of the second Test of India vs Australia.

Travis Head on Mohammed Siraj

After all this happened on Day 2, when the Head turned up for the press conference with his impressive run-making performance in his bag, Head said that he had jokingly said ‘well bowled’ to Siraj after his dismissal. ‘It probably went a little bit far, that’s why I’m disappointed in the reaction I gave back, but I’m also going to stand up for myself. I like to think in our team we wouldn’t do that. It’s not the way I’d like to play the game, and I feel like my teammates are the same. If I see that, I probably call it out, which I did.’ Also, before the third day’s play, he said, ‘No one really wants to see that in the game. I feel like both teams can probably represent themselves a little bit better and respect each other a little bit more in those situations, and we move on.’

Mohammed Siraj on Travis Head

From Mohammed Siraj’s perspective, he mentioned that what Head said in the press conference wasn’t right. During an interaction with Harbhajan Singh on Star Sports before the start of Day 3, Siraj denied Travis Head’s version of the exchange, calling it a lie. ‘It’s a lie that he said “well bowled” to me,’ the Indian bowler stated. He went on to explain that his animated celebration was a response to Head’s earlier six, saying, ‘When you get hit for a six on a good ball, it gets annoying. It ignites your passion.’ Adding to this, he also said, ‘We respect everyone; it’s not like we disrespect other players. I respect everybody because cricket is a gentleman’s game, but what he did wasn’t right. I didn’t like it at all.’

Mohammed Siraj vs Travis Head once more!

Although it’s not fair to say it was heated like Day 2, it was a subtle conversation we saw once again from both players on Day 3, but it looked like they were all set to put the incident behind them and move forward. When Siraj came to bat, Head, who was standing in the forward short leg position, was seen having a friendly chat with him. It more looked like they were ready to move on from the Day 2 banter.

All is well that ends well!

And now, after all that happened, from banters to seeing Siraj getting booed by the Australian public, the last thing that happened became a heart-melting moment for many. After the second Test ended, it seems that all has ended well, as we saw the two hug each other after the game. Although in the past Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, we have seen that it is not easy to move on for many, as this tough rivalry is famous for all these banters. It will be interesting to see how this Border-Gavaskar series moves forward.
