IPL 2025: How can teams buy unsold players after IPL 2025 Mega Auction is over?

The IPL 2025 Mega Auction was held in Jeddah on 24-25th November

The IPL 2025 Mega Auction is over and the time for teams to build their squad is done and dusted. However, there were quite a few players who remained unsold. However, there is still a chance for these players to find a place on the roster for the IPL 2025. Here we take a look at how unsold players can still join a team and take part in IPL 2025.

The rules for the Indian Premier League (IPL) are quite firm and allow no second chances. All players are required to go under the hammer which they did in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. After a grueling process of auctioning for 2 days, all 10 teams have now finalized their team.

How can teams still buy unsold players for IPL 2025?

The only way teams can buy new players will be as replacements. Before the start of the IPL 2025, teams can make further adjustments to their team. However, that option is however limited. Only players who get injured or are injured can be replaced.

Teams can make changes to their roster by removing the injured players and thereby buying new players who remained unsold in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. In such a scenario, the teams will be able to acquire the unsold players for their base price amount.

But signing replacements would be very limited. Since the players and the teams will be hopeful that their initial roster remains 100% fit before the tournament starts. But if an unfortunate incident happens and a team gets an injured player. Then they can easily sign a replacement in the form of an unsold player.
