In what could be a bad news for Team India and fans, a thunderstorm could hit Adelaide on the first day of the second IND vs AUS Test, starting December 6. That means, the D/N match could see a delayed start of no play on the opening day, as per the predictions.
Adelaide Weather Prediction
Team India is 1-0 up in the series, and the second Test could be a perfect opportunity for Rohit Sharma‘s team to build on that lead. They would now want a solid start in Adelaide too, but heavy rainfall could work in the favour of the hosts, as heavy rains will only make the pitch more lively.
However, the curator is prepared for the inclement Adelaide weather. Up to 7mm of rain is expected on the opening day, where both teams would like to the driver’s seat in the match, after India won the first one by a margin of 295 runs. Meanwhile, India would be vary of not repeating their 36-all out embarrassment in the pink ball Test, in the last series.
IND vs AUS 2nd Test
Damian Hough, the chief curator, though is prepared and hopes the weather will remain clear from Saturday onwards. “Friday looks like it could be thunderstorms,” he was quoted as saying by theroar.com.au. “I’m not sure exactly on the timing of those storms coming through, but we’re expecting to pull covers on Friday.
Apart from that, Team India has a few concerns to address before going into the match. First, they need to decide on their opening combination — if Rohit or KL Rahul would start with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Shubman Gill will also have to be accommodated in the XI, while the all-rounders and bowlers are expected to remain the same.
