The Pakistan cricket team still has a chance to reach the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025. The Shan Masood-led side has managed to win just 4 of the 10 matches they’ve played so far and is currently placed 7th on the WTC points table. Fascinatingly, they were 6th in August, and since then they’ve gone down a spot despite beating England 2-1 at home.
With South Africa, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, England, Australia, and India all in the race to make it to the WTC Final 2025, they need an almost ‘Qudrat ka Nizam.’ They need everything to go in their favour to get a chance to have that final showdown in Lord’s, England.
Pakistan’s qualification scenario for WTC Final 2025
- Win their remaining 4 matches (beat West Indies 2-0 and South Africa 2-0)
- South Africa vs Sri Lanka doesn’t end in draw (1-1) or South Africa win 2-0
- Australia don’t beat India 3-2 or series draws at 2-2
- New Zealand don’t win 2-1 against England
- Australia doesn’t beat beat or draw series against Sri Lanka (1-1 or 0-0) and Sri Lanka doesn’t win 2-0
