CSK’s Shreyas Gopal takes hat-trick in SMAT
It was a battle between CSK and RCB & MI in Karnataka vs Baroda SMAT match. Shreyas Gopal provided the perfect breakthrough for Karnataka as the team was struggling to find the second wicket. He struck thrice in a row in his second over to dismantle Baroda’s top-order. He first struck to get rid of a well-set Shashwat Rawat. In the next two deliveries, he managed to get rid of Hardik Pandya and captain Krunal Pandya for golden ducks.

Shreyas Gopal made his IPL debut with Mumbai Indians in 2014. After spending four years with the franchise, he moved to Rajasthan Royals where he stayed for four seasons. He was last part of Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024 before being released by the team.
Gopal’s performance in SMAT comes at the right times as CSK would be delighted to have an in-form Gopal in the line-up. While Gopal has already taken a hat-trick in IPL in the past, he will be a force to be reckoned with alongside Ashwin at the other end.
