Wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma is over the moon after being picked up by RCB in IPL 2025 auction. The youngsters was released by Punjab Kings after spending multiple seasons with the franchise. He was purchased by Bengaluru for Rs 11 cr in the mega auction. Ahead of the new IPL season, Jitesh Sharma revealed that he was excited to play alongside Virat Kohli in RCB while showering love on the team’s loyal fans.

In an exclusive interview with Times of India, Jitesh Sharma said that he was thankful to God for being picked up by RCB. He revealed that he did not have any expectations in the auction but just hoped that he would be purchased by a good time. Jitesh claimed that RCB is the perfect team for him in IPL 2025.

I wasn’t expecting anything from the auction. I was just hoping and praying to join a good team where I could play freely and express myself. I am incredibly grateful and thankful to God that I went to RCB—it feels like the perfect team for me,” said Jitesh Sharma.

The veteran star announced his retirement following IPL 2024 after acing his role as the middle-order batter and finisher. Jitesh Sharma is not a stranger to the role either and will be expected to act as RCB’s finisher in IPL 2025.

Despite being PBKS’ vice-captain in IPL 2024, he was not retained by the franchise who chose to retain only Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh. While PBKS did attempt to use the Right To Match card for Jitesh Sharma, RCB succeeded in making a higher bid for the keeper-batter and acquired his services.
