KKR retained all their six players in October, before the IPL Auction, a few days back. Then, they had retained West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell for INR 12 Cr, along with Rinku Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarthy and Harshit Rana. IN fact, at the IPL Auction, Shah Rukh Khan’s team even bid for a few KKR players who weren’t retained.
Andre Russell Turned Down IPL Auction Offer?
That just shows the loyalty the team has for the players. And in return, the players also show that to the franchise. Now, as per a video doing the rounds on social media, Andre Russell got a big offer from a franchise to get into the IPL Auction 2025, but the latter refused to part ways with the team.
In the video, an expert in the know, can be seen spilling the beans on R Ashwin’s Youtube channel. Having said that, the giant all-rounder didn’t accept the offer, showing his loyalty to the team. A franchise asked Russell to ask for release and be available in the auction. They also promised him a big amount of money, but Russell kept saying to them – KKR man, KKR man, KKR man..”, the expert said in the video.
Russell, meanwhile, has been with the KKR since 2014, and has played 126 matches for them. IN those, he has emerged as the third-highest run-scorer, amassing 2491 runs at an average of 30. Apart from that, he has also picked up 116 wickets, making him the MVP for KKR.
