India Cricket Team head coach Gautam Gambhir is set to rejoin the Indian camp on 3rd December. Following India’s victory in Perth, Gambhir flew back home owing to personal reasons. And now ahead of the Pink Ball Adelaide Test, he is now traveling back to Down Under to rejoin the side.
Gautam Gambhir wasn’t there to oversee Team India playing their pink ball warmup match against Prime Minister XI. Initially, the game was slated to be a two-day affair. But after the rain gods opened up, the match was held in a limited format, a 46-over-a-side game.
Guru Gambhir set to Rejoin Team India
Gautam Gambhir left from Australia on 26th November to fly back home. Speculations revealed, the health problems of one of Gambhir’s family members. And now ahead of the IND vs AUS 2nd Test, the India Cricket Team head coach is traveling back to rejoin his side.
It is safe to say that India wasn’t too bothered in the absence of Gautam Gambhir. The support staff consisting of Abhishek Nayar, Ryan ten Doeschate, and Morne Morkel stood up to the challenge. India performed well with both bat and ball and excelled in beating Prime Minister XI in Canberra by 6 wickets.
What’s next for Gautam Gambhir?
With Gambhir set to rejoin the Team on Tuesday, i.e. 3rd December, this main challenge would be to finalize India’s playing XI. The visitors were without the services of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill in Perth and were led by Jasprit Bumrah. Now with Rohit back, he is set to start the innings for India.
