After winning the toss, India opted to bowl first—a decision that paid off early as the hosts lost two quick wickets. Despite the shaky start, Sam Konstas played a resilient innings, smashing a remarkable century and guiding the Prime Minister XI to a total of 240. Harshit Rana shone with the ball for India, claiming 4 wickets in his 6-over spell.

In the chase, India’s openers laid a strong foundation. Yashasvi Jaiswal contributed a brisk 45, while KL Rahul retired out after a composed 27. Shubman Gill made an impactful comeback, scoring a well-crafted fifty off 62 balls before retiring out, showcasing his form ahead of the crucial series. Rohit Sharma falls cheaply scoring just 3 runs in his comeback match. While Kohli was benched in the warm-up match but spotted during practice.
