The the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken the fans by surprise. On Friday, BCCI secretary Jay Shah and Indian women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur unveiled a new jersey for both men’s and women’s sides. The jersey is exclusively for the One-Day Internationals (ODI) matches. Incredibly, India will don this very same jersey at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, wherever it will be scheduled by the ICC. We will get updates regarding that on November 30.
In a move that’s sure to excite fans, secretary Jay Shah and Harmanpreet Kaur unveiled the team’s new ODI jersey at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai. This fresh look will be sported by the Indian women’s team in their upcoming ODI series against the West Indies, kicking off on December 22nd in Baroda.
Team India’s new ODI Jersey
Ever since Adidas became Team India’s official jersey sponsors in May 2023, BCCI has allowed them to make major tweaks in the jerseys. They launched a superb kit for the ODI World Cup 2023, where India faced a heartbreaking loss in the final against Australia. That jersey had Tri-Color strips. But now, Adidas have put an entire Indian flag on the shoulders, with the stripes turned back to white now. The main blue tone remains the same.
Harmanpreet Kaur expressed her enthusiasm for the new jersey, stating, “It’s an honor to unveil the jersey today and I’m really happy that we are the first ones to wear this jersey against the West Indies team. Really happy. Really like the look. It’s looking really beautiful. And really happy that we have got a special ODI jersey.” The new jersey, a blend of style and tradition, is expected to inspire the Indian team as they aim to continue their impressive performances on the international stage.
