The WPL Auction 2025 season date and venue have been announced, and as per ESPNCricinfo, the mega event will be held on December 15 in Bengaluru. It must be noted, that each of the five franchises have a total budget of INR 15 Cr, which has been upped from 13.5 Cr the last year.
Some of the major names that weren’t retained — were India’s Sneh Rana, Poonam Yadav and even Veda Krishnamurthy. As far as the foreign players are concerned, Heather Knight, Lea Tahuhu and Deandra Dottin would be up for grabs at the WPL Auction. DC have the lowest purse among all the teams — 2.5 Cr, while Gujarat Giants have the most money left — 4.4 Cr. Surprisingly, the team released 7 players from their squad at the WPL Retention.
WPL 2025 Schedule
The schedule for WPL 2025 is obviously not out yet, but the tournament will most likely be held before the IPL 2025, in Feb-March window. The WPL 2024 was held in Delhi and Bengaluru, while the 2023 edition was held solely in Mumbai. The venue for 2025 is also undecided.
