Five-time champions Mumbai Indians will look to make a mark in IPL 2025, as last year the team failed to make a big impact and did not qualify for the playoffs, in fact finishing tenth place on the IPL 2024 class. In the IPL 2025 auction, they approached things with a different perspective, acquiring 18 quality players. Along with that, they retained their core group, including Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and Tilak Varma, for INR 75 crore. Last time, it was Hardik Pandya who replaced Rohit Sharma as the leader of MI. There were high expectations from him, but Pandya failed to replicate the success he brought to the Gujarat Titans. Now, as MI prepares for the new season, what can we expect from them when it comes to captaincy?
MI captain in IPL 2025
For Hardik’s fans, there is good news as he is set to lead the Mumbai Indians once again, despite his poor outing as a leader in IPL 2024. Last season, nothing went well for MI, as their camp became the first team to be eliminated from playoff contention. They managed only four wins from 12 games. Despite all this, Pandya is once again set to lead from the front.
