The opening day of the Last Chance Stage saw teams bring their A-game with Insilio. Along with Insilio, Team Liquid and The Vicious LATAM staking their claims for the remaining slots in the Grand Finals with the top 3 placements in Match 1. Team Vicious LATAM maintained this performance, taking home an impressive 2 Winner Winner Chicken Dinners on Day 1. They have ended the first half of the Last Chance Stage in 2nd place overall. Leading the pack were the top performers for Day 1, Voin Donkey ID, who took the top spot through inspiring gunplay, resulting in the top elimination score of 37. Indonesian pro player V3XXY took the title of daily MVP due to his contributions to this high elimination score that left the team with 59 total points, making him a player to watch out for in the Grand Finals.
The second day was a rollercoaster – with only six spots available the competition intensified. The day 2 sees multiple teams’ eliminations score in the double digits. Falcons Force dominated with a stunning performance across the Last Chance Stage. They secured 98 eliminations, a whole 35 more than the second-highest-scoring team, Insilio. Meanwhile, Team Liquid was served defeat after defeat, struggling to keep up their strong Round 1 performance with no placement in the top 10 across all Day 2 matches and ending their road to victory. On the other hand, team Regnum Carya Bra Esports (RCB) fought admirably. They climbed the leaderboard from 9th to claim the 6th slot available in the Grand Finals.
Ultimately, the top six qualifying teams in the Last Chance Stage emerged victorious, while ten others, including Team 4Merical Vibes and D’Xavier, were forced to end their 2024 PMGC journey, despite their valiant efforts and memorable performances throughout the tournament and successes in previous tournaments this year.
With the Last Chance Stage now concluded, the Grand Finals lineup is set: nine Group Stage qualifiers, six Last Chance Stage survivors, and Guild Esports as the Host Region invite. The Grand Finals will feature 18 matches over three days. The team with the most points will be crowned 2024 PUBG MOBILE Global Champion, claiming the $3 million prize pool.
