Umran Malik finally found a buyer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction, with Kolkata Knight Riders securing his services at his base price of INR 75 lakh. After going unsold in his initial set, the pacer was snapped up by KKR during the acceleration round.
The pacer had kept his base price at Rs. 75 Lakh. In the IPL 2024, his base price was Rs. 4 crore, and he played for a total of Rs. 4 crore. After the breakthrough season in IPL 2022, where he had taken 22 wickets in 14 matches, he did not make any impact in previous seasons.

Notably, Malik delivered the third fastest bowl of the IPL history of 157 KMP.
