Rishabh Pant has scripted history! He was touted to be the costliest pick at the IPL 2025 mega auction and the expected has happened. As many as three franchises made a bid for the former Delhi Capitals (DC) star. DC even opted to use the RTM Card for him, but LSG hiked the price to Rs 27 crore, making him the most expensive player in IPL history. In the bidding war, LSG and RCB were in the race till the Rs 11.25 crore mark.

During their bidding war, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) posted a GIF of a Spiderman, captioning, “On his way to the Chinnaswamy, maybe?” Why the Spiderman, you ask? Well, Pant is known as a “Spiddy”. But eventually, LSG were the final bidders. After the completion of the deal, LSG duly replied to the RCB tweet and put their own version of GIF, that had “Sorry, Kid” written on it.
