The century, Virat’s first in 2024, was critical for a lot of reasons, since that ensured that India reached a position of strength. The 36-year-old brought up his hundred in 143 deliveries, taking India to an overall lead of 533, while the declaration came at 487/6.

Speaking after India declared the innings following Virat Kohli’s hundred, the batting maestro dedicated to knock to his wife Anushka Sharma. He said that she was with him through his highs and lows, and said that he was not a guy who will hang around just for the sake of it.
“Anushka has been right by my side through thick and thin. She knows everything that goes on behind the scenes. Knows what goes on in the head when you’re not performing well. I’m not a guy who hangs around for the sake of it. I take pride in performing for the country,” Virat Kohli said.
