IPL 2025 mega auction: Arshdeep Singh become costliest Indian pacer in IPL auction history

Arshdeep Singh become the most expensive Indian pacer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction history.

Arshdeep Singh was bought by Punjab Kings after the team used their RTM card in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction. He became the most expensive Indian pacer in IPL auction history. After the player was sold to SRH for 15.75 crore, PBKS bought his back with Rs. 18 crores via RTM cards.

The bidding for the Indian pacer initially took off between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Delhi Capitals (DC). CSK exited the race at ₹7.25 crore, paving the way for Gujarat Titans (GT) to join the fray. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) then entered the bidding war, raising the stakes to ₹10 crore. Rajasthan Royals joined the bid at Rs. 11 crore. Sunrisers also started their bid for the pacer at 12.75 crore

Arshdeep Singh has taken 76 wickets in the IPL so far. He has played 65 matches with an economy rate of 9.03 and an average of 27. His best season was the previous one, where he claimed 19 wickets.

Arshdeep Singh in IPL 2024

Although Punjab Kings did not retain him, Arshdeep Singh had a decent IPL 2024 season, taking 19 wickets in 14 matches. The young pacer still has the potential to improve further, and in the upcoming season, he could establish himself as the best Indian fast bowler in the IPL.
