Just a day before the IPL Auction kicks off in Jeddah, KKR looks like the most sorted team for now. They spent heavily on retaining their six players, just not to depend solely on what they manage to bag at the IPL Auction. The team got rid of their IPL 2024-winning skipper Shreyas Iyer, but truth be told, they still look like a well-oiled unit, with the presence of Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarthy, Andre Russell, Rinku Singh, Harshit Rana, and Ramandeep Singh.
What they really need is a captain-material player from the IPL Auction, but they could resort to using Rinku as that option. After all, the latter has proven himself time and again, with KKR and Team India as well. So all seems mighty well for the defending champs. Insidesport takes a look at KKR’s retained players, released players, potential buys, RTMs and purse left for the IPL Auction 2025.

KKR RTM Card in IPL 2025 Auction
After retaining six players, KKR have no RTMs left going into the IPL 2025 Auction. However, they would still consider bidding for some of their released players like Nitish Rana and Venkatesh Iyer. Also, on their wishlist could be the likes of Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
KKR Potential Buys
Their core is solid, but they can still fill up to 19 slots. For now, besides Sunil Narine they don’t have a top-order batter and would be looking for an Indian to fill that spot. So Ishan Kishan could be one such batter. Plus, if not Rinku, then the team will also have to look for a skipper. Perhaps, someone like a Jos Buttler fits the bill.
KKR Remaining Purse
After six high-profile retentions, KKR are left with a purse of only INR 51 Cr. They would have to be very careful with the choices they make at the auction table.
