The India Cricket Team suffered an injury scare before the start of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. A day ahead of the IND vs AUS 1st Test in Perth, Ravindra Jadeja suffered an injury scare in India’s final training session. While reports initially, claimed that Ravichandran Ashwin was slated to start, it remains to seen if that would be the case or Jadeja would get the nod ahead of the off-spinner.
Reports from the Australian media claimed that Ravindra Jadeja was hit on his midriff during India’s practice. This incident greatly shook the medical team as it was a serious injury. But the all-rounder, on the other hand, took a little time to recover and went on to resume his training.
Jadeja fit after injury scare
After being hit on his midriff, Ravindra Jadeja continued to participate in the practice session. He completed the entire training and, in fact, became the last player to leave the pitch. He was also spotted yesterday having a long chat with India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir.
It remains to be seen if Ravindra Jadeja will be the sole spinner or will partner Ravi Ashwin for the IND vs AUS 1st Test. The Perth pitch is notoriously known to favor extra pace and bounce which can prompt India to feature a solitary spinner for the game.
India is likely to head into the game with a solitary spinner meaning India will feature 4 pacers. Jasprit Bumrah will be spearheading the pace attack along with the India Cricket Team in the absence of Rohit Sharma. As per reports, both Harshit Rana and Nitish Kumar Reddy are likely to get their debut for the game.
