The cash-rich league, IPL, is all set to return. Although the tournament is still a little while away, but the IPL 2025 mega auction is coming extremely soon. The auction will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, marking the first time the IPL mega auction is being held outside India. November 24 and 25 will be packed for cricket fans and experts.
With 574 players to be auctioned, the event promises to be thrilling. The auctioneer, once again, will take centre stage to conduct the proceedings. So far, 17 IPL auctions have taken place, with very few changes in the auctioneer lineup. A total of 4 auctioneers have been used, and it was Richard Madley, known as the auction maestro, who handled the IPL auctions from 2008 to 2018, becoming the talk of the town. After that, Hugh Edmeades succeeded him. Now, who will take the spotlight at the IPL 2025 mega auction?
IPL 2025 Auctioneer
Although confirmation is still pending, there is a high chance that Mallika Sagar, who has already hosted auctions at the Women’s Premier League, Pro Kabaddi League, and even the IPL mini-auction, will host the IPL 2025 mega auction. Sagar made history when she became the first female auctioneer to conduct an IPL auction. She initially hosted two seasons of the WPL and then had a groundbreaking moment at the IPL 2024 mini-auction, where IPL saw its first-ever female auctioneer. After a successful stint in the mini-auction, it will be interesting to see how Mallika Sagar handles the IPL 2025 mega auction.
