Rohan Jaitley to not replace Jay Shah as BCCI secretary? DDCA president files nomination seeking second term

Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) president Rohan Jaitley has filed his nomination seeking a second term, casting aspersions on if he will replace Jay Shah as BCCI secretary

Incumbent Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) president Rohan Jaitley has filed his nomination seeking a second term as the chief of the association. His move has now cast aspersions on if he will replace Jay Shah as the BCCI secretary. Shah is all set to take over the reins at International Cricket Council (ICC) as chairman from December onwards.

Rohan Jaitley files nomination for DDCA president election

Rohan Jaitley will be in fray along with cricketer-turned-politician Kirti Azad in the DDCA president election. The DDCA elections will be held between December 13-15 and the results will be announced on December 16. The election will be held for all members of the apex council including five office-bearers and seven directors. Jaitley emerged victorious in the last election 1658 votes.

Latest news

Earlier, Kirti Azad had levelled serious allegations against Rohan Jaitley, going on to claim that the DDCA under president Rohan Jaitley was involved in corruption.

Meanwhile, a report had earlier stated that Rohan Jaitley, along with Gujarat Cricket Association secretary Anil Patel have emerged as frontrunners to replace Jay Shah as BCCI secretary. The report also added that there would be no Special General Meeting (SGM) to decide on Shah’s successor, adding that Jaitley has emerged as the favourite.

Rohan Jaitley is the son of late politician Arun Jaitley. Under his administration, DDCA organized it’s own Delhi Premier League (DPL), Delhi’s first franchise-run T20 competition.
