3 players Royal Challengers Bengaluru can buy in IPL 2025 Mega Auction as captain

Royal Challengers Bengaluru would be desperate to spill their cash to buy a captaincy candidate in IPL 2025 Mega Auction

Royal Challengers Bengaluru are without a captain heading into IPL 2025. This happened after the team decided to release Faf du Plessis and now are on the hunt to find his replacement. While they obviously have the fallback option on Virat Kohli, RCB would still be keen to sign captaincy candidates in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.

After 3 years, RCB finally decided to release Protean great Faf du Plessis. Initially, it was assumed that Virat Kohli would again lead the side as he did from 2013 to 2021. But then reports emerged that nothing has been finalised and the team will still look for players who can captain the side.

KL Rahul

It would be homecoming for KL who started his IPL career at Royal Challengers Bengaluru for a span of 5 years. And now after a dispute with Lucknow Super Giants, KL Rahul was released and will undergo the hammer in the Mega Auction.

KL Rahul‘s ability to bat, keep, and lead the side makes him an ideal candidate for RCB. Though his strike rate becomes a concern, his ability to lead the side under difficult conditions makes him a suitable candidate. Furthermore, his familiarity with the franchise greatly enhances his case.

Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant is the most sought player in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. The former Delhi Capitals captain had a fallout with the franchise and will go under the hammer. The remaining purse of RCB makes them strong contenders to spill the cash and rope in the superstar.

Rishabh Pant is an able leader, a good captain, and a destructive batter. Coupled with his keeping skills, his all-round package makes him the best in the business. Can he lead RCB to glory and break their 17-year trophyless jinx?

Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer became the first player in IPL history to be released as a defending captain. Reports claim he wanted 30 crore as his retention price which Kolkata Knight Riders didn’t want to give.

Shreyas Iyer, who is a tremendous batsman at the top order can form a formidable partnership with Kohli and the rest of the batters to help his side build a strong innings. Furthermore, his leadership skills were clearly showcased when he guided KKR to their third title in IPL 2024 after managing and leading a team of superstars. Naturally, he will be a very good fit for the Bengaluru outfits.
