On this day (November 19, 2023), the Mighty Australians broke the hearts of the Indian fans after defeating the home side in the 2023 World Cup final. Played at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium, Australia clinched its sixth World Cup title as they handed a heartbreaking defeat to Rohit Sharma and Co. in the 2023 World Cup final.

India’s top performers included KL Rahul, who scored 66 runs, and Virat Kohli, who contributed 54 runs. However, Australia’s bowlers, particularly Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins, managed to restrict India’s scoring. As a result, the Indian side managed to post just 240 runs in their allotted 50 overs.

Chasing a total of 241 runs in their allotted 50 overs, the match’s pivotal moment came when Australia, initially stumbling at 47-3, witnessed Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne forge a formidable 192-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Travis Head played a crucial role for Australia, scoring a magnificent 137 runs off 120 balls apart from his spectacular catch to dismiss India’s captain, Rohit Sharma, in the first innings of the game.

The conclusion of the match saw Glenn Maxwell stepping in after Travis Head’s dismissal, quickly securing the win for Australia. This victory not only started celebrations at the Narendra Modi Stadium but also underscored Australia’s dominant run in the latter stages of the tournament.

Speaking about team India, the home side were brutal in their performance throughout the tournament as they won all their matches before stumbling in the 2023 World Cup final.
