India’s young pace sensation Harshit Rana is inching closer to making his India Cricket Team debut. The speedster is en route to receiving his maiden Test cap for the IND vs AUS 1st Test in Perth. Team India faces a dearth of pacers for the game and with WTC Finals qualifying scenarios becoming more and more difficult, India is ready to go all guns blazing against Australia.
Jasprit Bumrah will be leading the team and spearheading the pace attack. In all likelihood, India will be approaching the game with 4 pacers as Siraj and Akash Deep will join. Harshit Rana who has previously played 2 IPL seasons will make his much-awaited debut for his country.

Harshit Rana proved as a revelation for Kolkata Knight Riders last season in the Indian Premier League. As a result, he was fast-tracked into the National Team setup. Though he received Team India call-ups, but wasn’t featured in any matches, even against Bangladesh. He was retained by KKR on Retention Day for a price of 4 crores as an uncapped player.
But now, in the much anticipated Border Gavaskar Trophy, Harshit Rana is likely to get his break. India faces a daunting task when they take on their formidable opposition in this series. For the first Test, the visitors are devoid of captain Rohit Sharma and ace batter Shubman Gill.
As for the bowling department, India is likely to rely heavily on their pace unit. It is expected that India will use a solitary spinner with Ravindra Jadeja likely to get the nod ahead of Ravi Ashwin.
