PV Sindhu began the Japan Masters in a sensational way, taking on Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungphan. The Indian Olympic medalist notched up wins in straight sets and now enters the next round.
PV Sindhu showcased her brilliance without giving any respite to her opponent. She bagged 21-12 and 21-8 in straight sets to win the game in just 38 minutes.

Previously the two opponents have faced each other 19 times. And as far as the Head to Head record goes, the Indian ace shuttler enjoyed a whopping 18-1 record. And after this win, PV Sindhu now enjoys a commanding 19-1 lead over her adversary.
Busanan Ongbamrungphan began the game on a strong note showing her swift and agile style. She went on to take a 6-4 lead in the opening set as PV Sindhu had a tough job to match her opponent. Gradually, the Indian star picked up her pace and found her rhythm to reach 11-9. And then it was just one-way traffic. PV Sindhu gave her opponent just 2 more points before taking the first set 21-12.
There was no point of return for Busanan Ongbamrungphan in the second set. Basking with confidence in her first set, PV Sindhu displayed her masterclass as she went on to lead 4-0 in the second set. She continued her flurry of attacks before reaching the midway at 11-7. The last 10 points were sheer dominance as PV Sindhu lost just one further point, before finishing off the game with a 21-8 second set win.
