Richa Ghosh’s Bengal suffer embarrassing 10-wicket thrashing at hands of Mumbai in Senior Women’s T20 trophy

Mumbai handed Bengal a 10-wicket thrashing in the final of Senior Women's T20 Trophy to lift the cup in an emphatic fashion

West Bengal women suffered an embarrassing 10-wicket thrashing at the hands of Mumbai in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy final. Humairaa Kaazi-led Mumbai took just 12.3 overs to complete the 86-run chase. Jagravi Pawar and Soumya Singh joined hands to wreak havoc on the Bengal batters, especially the tailenders. It is pertinent to point out that the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy is the equivalent to men’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT).

Mumbai beat Bengal to win Senior Women’s T20 Trophy

India women’s cricket team keeper-batter Richa Ghosh (4) flopped in the contest and was the first Bengal batter to be dismissed. The rest of the middle-order collapsed like a pack of cards, with no batter managing to go past a single-digit score. Opener Dhara Gujjar (26) top-scored for the side and attempted to hold fort till the 11th over. Hrishita Basu (18) and Titas Sadhu (17) steadied the ship for Bengal but failed to remain in the crease for long. Four wickets fell in the final over, thanks to Pawar as Bengal were bowled out for just 85 runs.
