Gautam Gambhir responds to social media trolling after India’s loss to New Zealand, Telling the importance of team strength and his strong relationship with Rohit Sharma.

Ahead of departing for the much-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy, India’s head coach, Gautam Gambhir, addressed the press conference in Mumbai. During the media interaction, he was questioned about the social media trolling following India’s humiliating 0-3 loss to New Zealand. Despite the criticism, Gambhir reflected his views with calm and confidence, brushing off the impact of online trolls.

Gambhir’s stance on Social Media backlash

When asked about the negative comments flooding social media after the loss, Gambhir responded calmly, saying, “What difference does social media make?” His words showed that he does not let online criticism affect him. Gambhir further highlighted that the team’s strength lies in the dressing room, where “tough players” are ready to face challenges. “I’m not on the field; there are tough players in the dressing room. It’s an absolute honour to be coaching them.” he added.

Gambhir reflects on his relationship with Rohit Sharma

Addressing the team’s performance and the subsequent criticism, Gambhir acknowledged the loss, stating, “We were outplayed by New Zealand. Not going to defend. The criticism we are receiving, we take it with both hands and we keep going forward.” Gambhir also spoke about his bond with the team’s captain, Rohit Sharma, reaffirming, “My relation with Rohit is great.”

India’s First Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth

Looking ahead, the Indian team is gearing up to play the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth, starting on 22nd November. With the team focused on preparations and Gambhir’s leadership, all eyes will be on how India performs in the challenging conditions of Australia.
