‘Accept all Criticism’: Gautam Gambhir takes the blame for losing IND vs NZ Test series

Following India's 3-0 loss to New Zealand, Rohit Sharma and Co have dropped to the second spot in WTC Standings

The India Cricket Team was recently handed a humiliating 3-0 loss ta home by New Zealand. And now head coach Gautam Gambhir has taken all the blame for the series loss. He claimed that the hosts were outplayed across all three departments. While questions were raised about the form of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Gambhir shut those down claiming that the hunger is there in the team to strive for more.

India’s 3-0 loss to the Kiwis now sees them dropped to the second spot in the WTC Standings. India needs to win the series 4-0 to automatically qualify for the WTC Finals in the summer.

Gambhir puts his trust in Ro-Ko

India’s ace batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli has in poor form off late. But the India head coach has decided to keep his trust on the ace batters. When questioned about the declining form, Gautam Gambhir was quick to shut the media claiming that he has no reason to worry about Ro-Ko’s poor form.

“We’re outplayed in all three departments. We accept all the criticism. I have no concerns over Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s form. The hunger in that dressing room is important for me and I feel there is a lot of hunger,” Gautam Gambhir said in the Press Conference.

Gambhir further added that the addition of the experienced players in the team brings a different dynamics. It helps in getting important input for the matches while the young players in the team learn and grow well.

We have a lot of experienced players who have played in these conditions. Those inputs will be crucial for the young players. Honestly, I am not even thinking the team is in transition. There are some incredibly tough people in the dressing room who will achieve big things in the future. Transition or no transition those things will continue to happen in Indian cricket,” Gambhir added.
