Washington Sundar with Ravindra Jadeja would be perfect all-round boost for CSK in IPL 2025

Washington Sundar would be the perfect addition to CSK's all-rounder department in the IPL 2025 auction and will play a vital role along with Jadeja

CSK have ensured that their all-round department is well balanced ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. The five-time champions have retained former skipper Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube as a part of their core team. Ruturaj Gaikwad & co. will be on the hunt for more all-rounders in the auction, having released Mitchell Santner, Moeen Ali and others. There is one person in the pool who could be a perfect fit for CSK. And it is none other than Chennai’s own Washington Sundar.

Washington Sundar and Jadeja – A dream combo for CSK

If CSK manage to rope in Washington Sundar at IPL 2025 auction, then the all-rounder would reunite with MS Dhoni. He made his first IPL appearance alongside the ex-CSK skipper in Rising Pune Supergiant (RPSG) before being picked up by RCB. He then went on to play for Sunrisers Hyderabad and now has been released just ahead of the auction.

Washington Sundar has decent numbers to back his claim as one of the valuable all-rounders in the shortest format. While a lot of teams can benifit from his addition, CSK would enjoy more advantage. The pair of Sundar and Jadeja could be a nightmare to deal with for any team on a turning track. And what makes the deal more sweeter is Sundar’s ability to deliver with the bat as well. It could increase CSK’s batting depth and strengthen the lower middle-order.

Washington Sundar has been impressive in 2024, despite getting only two matches with SRH in IPL 2024. His domination with bot bat and ball in domestic red-ball tourney for Tamil Nadu earned him a call-up to India’s Test squad. He tasted success in IND vs NZ 2nd Test in Pune and in the 3rd Test in Mumbai as well. He bowled well when paired with Jadeja, posing a formidable threat to batters. It would be best for him and CSK to get him to be in action with Jadeja.
