WPL 2025: UP Warriorz retentions & released players ahead of WPL auction

UP Warriorz revealed their retention list for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 season on November 7.

UP Warriorz’s retention decisions, possible releases, and strategic purchases are generating a lot of excitement as they get ready for the 2025 Women’s Premier League (WPL) season.

The Warriorz established a solid core in their first two seasons, with Alyssa Healy, Deepti Sharma, and Sophie Ecclestone among its members. But they lost to the eventual champions, the Mumbai Indians, by 72 runs in the eliminator, ending their first-edition campaign. In 2024, they added players like Dani Wyatt, Vrinda Dinesh, Saima Thakor, Poonam Khemnar, and Gouher Sultana to their roster in an effort to bolster their performance. They were unable to qualify for the finals because of their uneven play, especially in their pace attack, which kept them to just three victories from eight games.
