“When it comes to country..” Robin Uthappa slams CSK for letting Rachin Ravindra train in academy

IND vs NZ: After practicing at the CSK Academy, Rachin Ravindra emerged as the second-highest run-scorer in the series, with 256 runs.

Who would have thought, that CSK letting Rachin Ravindra train in the academy before the IND vs NZ Test series, could have such a significant impact. The hosts went on to lose home Test series 0-3 after a gap of 12 long years, and the Rachin did have a huge role to play there.

CSK at Fault for IND vs NZ Debacle?

To be precise, it was just before the NZ vz AFG Test that Rachin had gone there, and trained. to get acclimatized to the conditions there. The southpaw had a significant impact in the Bengaluru Test, where a win for the Kiwis, set the tone for the rest of the series. In the first innings there, Rachin Ravindra ended up making 134 in the first innings, and then unbeaten 39 in the second.

“Rachin Ravindra came here and practiced at the CSK Academy. CSK is a beautiful franchise that will always look after its franchise players but a line has to be drawn where the interest of the country comes ahead of your franchise players, especially when he is a foreign player and comes and plays against our country,” Uthappa said on his YouTube channel.

Rachin Ravindra Thrashes India

Uthappa went on to say that the team goes out of the way for its players, but a line should be drawn, when it comes to the country. “I am not surprised that CSK always go over and above for their players but somewhere in that kindness, maybe I am not saying the right thing, I absolutely love CSK, but when it comes to the country, there should be a line somewhere where we do not cross that line,” he added.

“On the basis of that preparation, Rachin Ravindra batted brilliantly. One of the best knocks by an overseas player. On that wicket, 134 off 157 balls, it was solid batting. He then showed that he is the future of New Zealand cricket,” he concluded.
