‘It might awaken a sleeping giant’: Australian star worried about India’s comeback in IND vs AUS Tests

India is slated to take on Australia for the 1st Test of Border Gavaskar Trophy on 22nd November at Perth.

India recently was handed a humiliating 3-0 whitewash by New Zealand in a Test series. But Team Australia ahead of the Border Gavaskar Trophy is worried. Ace speedster Josh Hazlewood believes the loss can bite them back as it can potentially awaken a sleeping giant. India begins their IND vs AUS Test series in Down Under on 22nd November at Perth.

While Josh Hazlewood believes India’s confidence has taken a major hit, there can be repercussions to that as well. While the Aussie star has credit to the Kiwi bowlers he claimed that the concern of the sleeping giant rising can pose a big problem.

Worrying signs for Australia?

“It might awaken a sleeping giant, so to speak. We’ll see that when they come out. It’s obviously better them losing 3-0 than winning 3-0, easily. The confidence might have taken a bit of a hit. A lot of them have been out here, but there’s a few batters who haven’t, so they’ll be a bit unsure of what to expect. I don’t think you can read too much into it. The results are obviously good for us in a way,” Josh Hazlewood said.

Hazlewood believes that India will come strongly when they travel to Australia for the gruesome 5-match Test series. On the other hand, the speedster claimed that winning a game in India is tough and it was a brilliant job for the Kiwis who won 3 games on a trot.

“Credit to the Kiwi boys. They played outstanding cricket. To win 3-0 in India is unbelievable. It’s hard enough to win one game there, let alone every match of the series,” Hazlewood added.
