Pakistan cricket team stars, who are centrally contracted, are expected to receive a a raise in pay for the following annual year. The PCB had announced the much-delayed central contracts list last week, rewarding 25 cricketers with a 12-month contract. Only Babar Azam and white-ball skipper Mohammad Rizwan have been retained in Category A.
How much will Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Rizwan earn per month?
As per The Express Tribune, Babar Azam and Rizwan – who are in Category A – will receive a sum of PKR 4.5 million as a monthly contract fee. In addition to this, they will also get PKR 3.7 million per month from the increased ICC share. In total, the duo are expected to earn Rs 20 lakh (INR) per month.
Category B players will earn PKR 4.552 million per month while Category C players will get 2.035 million. Category D players will earn PKR 1.267 million per month.

Additionally, central contract players receive substantial compensation for playing domestic matches, with a fee of PKR 628,898 for a four-day match, PKR 322,310 for an ODI, and PKR 209,292 for a T20 match.
The contracts have awarded are for 12 months, effective from July 1, 2024. Pacer Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah, who were dropped along with Babar for PAK vs ENG 2nd and 3rd Test, find themselves demoted to Category B. Along with these pacers, Test skipper Shan Masood has also been included in Category B.
