The tournament started in 1992 and continued until the 2017 edition, organized by Cricket Hong Kong, having a six-a-side format, which means teams play with six players. It’s a 5-over competition, initially, there were 8 teams participating, but in 2011, the team expansion occurred, and since then, 12 teams have participated in this edition, India, Australia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, England, Hong Kong, Nepal, New Zealand, Oman, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and the UAE. Looking at the tournament’s history, South Africa and England have each won it five times, whereas Pakistan has won it four times, and India has won it once.

History and Significance of Hong Kong Sixes

The Hong Kong Cricket Sixes is a unique, six-a-side tournament that has been a major highlight in the cricketing world since its inception in 1992. Known for its high-scoring matches and aggressive batting, this fast-paced tournament was designed to entertain both television viewers and live spectators. The format, where every player (except the wicketkeeper) is required to bowl one over, encourages all-round play and has attracted some of the world’s best cricketers over the years.

The tournament will run from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM across three days, offering fans continuous cricketing action. Ticket prices for the event have been set at $150 for Day 1, $250 for Day 2, and $350 for Day 3. Fans can also opt for a three-day pass for $580.
