Meanwhile, all eyes were on the legendary Fazel Atrachali, who made history by reaching his 500th tackle point in the PKL, becoming the first player ever to achieve this milestone.

Cautious start to the match

The game began cautiously, with both teams struggling to score in the opening minutes. However, the Puneri Paltan soon pulled ahead with a three-point lead, led by Mohit Goyat’s efforts.

Bengal Warriorz fight back

The Bengal Warriorz responded strongly, with Praveen Thakur and captain Fazel Atrachali leading the charge. By midway through the first half, they had gained a 1-point lead in a tightly contested match. But in the closing moments of the half, Akash Shinde and Abinesh Nadarajan ignited a surge for the Puneri Paltan, pushing them into a 5-point lead.

Fazel Atrachali makes history

With just 2 minutes left in the first half, Fazel Atrachali tackled Mohit Goyat, marking his 500th tackle point in the PKL—a feat unmatched in the tournament’s history. The teams headed into halftime with the Puneri Paltan leading 15-12.

Second Half action

After the break, the Puneri Paltan extended their lead further when Gaurav Khatri executed an ALL OUT on Nitin Dhankhar, putting additional pressure on Fazel and his team. In response, Sushil Kambrekar managed an ALL OUT on the Puneri Paltan, bringing the Bengal Warriorz back into contention. At the midway point of the second half, the Bengal Warriorz trailed by 4 points.

Thrilling finish

With five minutes remaining, Sushil Kambrekar completed his Super 10, and the Bengal Warriorz kept pushing forward. In a thrilling finale, they took a narrow 1-point lead with just a couple of minutes left. However, in the final minute, the Puneri Paltan leveled the score at 32-32, resulting in a dramatic draw.
