IND vs NZ 2nd Test: MCA promises more water for fans after major scarcity on Day 1

It was a complete nightmare for the India Cricket Team fans who visited the MCA Stadium in Pune to witness IND vs NZ 2nd Test. The scarcity of water at the stadium on Day 1 saw a massive uproar from the fans. And with temperatures on the high, fans fell sick with dehydration. And now finally, the MCA has apologised to the fans promising more water booths across different areas of the ground for fans from Day 2.

As per reports around 20 people visited the hospital kiosk with dehydration. With majority of the stands not having roofs and a bright sun over head, fans cried for water. The MCA initially promised free water during the game, but with a scarcity of water, fans were forced to buy water bottles from vendors at a high price.

MCA Apologises to Fans

“We can only apologise to the fans for inconvenience caused. But we want to assure them, through MCA, that this won’t be repeated, and everything will be taken care of,” MCA secretary Kamlesh Pisal said.

“Considering the scorching heat, we had decided to provide cold water. In our previous experience, the fans had complained about us providing warm water or boiling water. We, as management, thought we would provide them with cold water, so we had kept cool cages. Once the water in cool cages finished, we tried to refill it with the same cold water, and in that process, it got delayed. We have done a recce of the entire water in stands and will make sure everything is refilled properly tonight to avoid such situations,” he added.

There was a huge scarcity of water at the stadium. While the MCA initially promised free water for all, but huge areas of the stadium had no supply of water. Fans were left stranded, looking for water to drink. Reports claim that the situation worsened when fans were forced to buy a couple of water balls for a price of over 1000 rupees.
