With the first Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy starting on 22nd October, Team India will play the Intra-squad game starting on 15th November, at the WACA in Perth.
Preparations Continue for BGT
The other day the BCCI announced the India A squad for the tour of Australia. Ruturaj Gaikwad will be captaining the side while ace Bengal opener Abhimanyu Easwaran would serve as his deputy. The India squad is yet to be announced as Team India continue their ongoing series against the Black Caps.
India were handed a surprise loss by New Zealand in the first Test in Bengaluru. With 2 more Test matches remaining, the onus will be on Rohit Sharma and Co to win the series.
Since, India won’t be getting any further practice matches before the highly anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy, thus they would play an intra squad game in Perth. This will not only test the strength of the squad, but will also help the side in analyzing which India A players can remain with the team as traveling reserves.
