The BCCI has gone on to announce the India A squad for the tour of Australia. The India A squad will be hadow touring Australia where they will play 2 first-class matches and also take part in a three-day intra-squad game against Team India. Despite his recent 142-run knock in the Ranji Trophy, Shreyas Iyer has been snubbed from red-ball cricket.
Earlier this year, Shreyas Iyer was snubbed of his BCCI Central contract for failing to play domestic cricket. But then he was called up by Gautam Gambhir in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Against the neighboring side, tough Iyer ended his National team exile, he unfortunately could let his bat do the talking.
No place for Shreyas Iyer!
Shreyas Iyer has been having a mixed bag of forms recently. The highs are high and on the other end, the lows are very low. Inconsistency has been a major factor and this can be one of the major reasons for Iyer’s snub from India A’s tour of Australia.

Over the last couple of months, Iter has been inconsistent. He has three first-innings ducks but has ultimately recovered well with 3 half-centuries. But his greatest exploit came in the Ranji Trophy clash against Maharashtra. He went on to hammer a magnificent knock of 142 runs.
It also remains highly doubtful that Iyer can directly get a chance in the India Squad for Australia. But currently, Iyer needs to continuously perform well in domestic cricket to warrant his case for a selection in the National Team.
