In yet another eventful day in cricket, the second round of the Ranji Trophy came to an end, where Mumbai finally managed to post a win, against Maharashtra. There were a few more notable performances throughout the day, where in the ACC Emerging Asia Cup, Rasikh Salam came up with a stupendous spell of 3/15, but the highlight was, the announcement of IND A squad for AUS A series, where there were a few notable inclusions, and a few surprising omissions. RCB “Forced” to pick local talent
As per a report in the Times of India, IPL franchise RCB is facing “considerable pressure” from the state government to pick up local talent. But whether than actually happens or not, remains to be seen, since no team goes into the auction, targeting only the local players.

After a shock loss against Baroda in their first game of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25, Mumbai made a stunning comeback against Maharashtra. In the match, Shreyas Iyer and Shams Mulani emerged as the heroes, with the former scoring a big hundred in the first innings. Mulani returned with six wickets in the match, making him one of the most sought-after all-rounders in the domestic circuit. Tanush Kotian was overall impressive as well.

J&K’s fast bowler Rasikh Salam is fast rising through the ranks in T20 cricket. The youngster produced a fiery spell against UAE in the ACC Emerging T20 Cup, where he returned with figures of 3/15 in two overs. Rishabh Pant no competition for Sanju Samson
India keeper-batter Sanju Samson clarified in an interview with Vimal Kumar, that he doesn’t compete with Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan, for a spot in the Indian team. He said, “We of course can’t fight against each other. Whatever comes on the social media, is only personal opinion. But there isn’t any rivalry between the players. If we think like that, there is bound to be a sense of awkwardness.”
